GARETH BARLOW

Gareth is an award-winning broadcaster working for Sky News. Join him weekdays 6am - 7am & 10am - 1pm.

The first UK broadcaster to announce the death of Pope Francis, Gareth has anchored rolling news on the first day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as protestors stormed the US capitol and while the world reacted to the Air India disaster. Before to joining Sky News, he worked for the BBC World Service, BBC World TV, BBC News and for radio stations in the US and New Zealand.

Prior to broadcasting, Gareth supplied lamb to some of the UK's most prestigious restaurants from his farm in North Yorkshire. Despite his family not being farmers -  he sold my Xbox aged 17 and bought six sheep, by the age of 23 the flock had grown to almost 600. A trained butcher and slaughterman; his story was followed widely by national and global media outlets.
